My favorite way to reflect on the year

Eyooo friend!

So quick life update:

I’m back in NL, living with my parents for a little bit. It’s so great to see them & close friends again.

One thing I notice is that I can go through this period in 2 ways.

Fall back into some old patterns: Too much social media, being frustrated because I’m not traveling anymore and being in depressing weather.

Or see it as an opportunity to still show up as my best self, even in a less inspiring environment.

I’m going for the second one hehe

Couple of thoughts

Unconsciously making problems bigger then they are

Sometimes something feels like a really big problem and we fully immerse ourselves in it. We get caught in a negative spiral and it starts to take over everything.
It makes it feel like everything is going wrong.

It’s like a fly endlessly hitting the glass, thinking it’s trapped,
while the open window is right next to it.

Zoom out a little.
The “obstacle” isn’t as big as it looks and the solution is usually right there.

Reflecting on the year

Reflection is a key part of learning through experience. It helps you notice what worked, appreciate the good moments and learn from them.
